A prolific filmmaker in his own right and the youngest member of the Bako team, Paul brought just the right amount of naivety and playfulness to the character of Kuda that brought some levity to the serious subject matter explored in the film. Paul is a talent to look out for in the Zimbabwean film landscape...and he's a great dancer too!
More well known as a comedian, Zex (as he is affectionately known as) turns out a brilliant dramatic performance as the more cautious older brother to Paul Zibgowa’s Kuda. Zex comes from the world of comedy skits but showed some serious acting chops in this role. This might be the start of a brilliant acting career for one of Zimbabwe's cherished on-screen talents.
A versatile performer, Kudzai brought in the experience that comes from his roles on major tv shows and feature films. His turn as Simon, Kuda’s money-hungry sidekick is one for the ages. Aside from acting, Kudzai is passionate about casting, serving as the casting director for Bako and conducting numerous workshops and rehearsals in preparation for the film.
A stage and screen actor with years of experience under his belt, Mathias is also a consumate professional and helped set the tone for his fellow cast mates on the set of Bako. The maturity Mathias brought to the set was also very evident in the character of Peter. As a frequent collaborator of director Tafadzwa Ranganai, Mathias is one face we will see in the future.
